#SexySnippets Outcast by Kiru Taye #PNR

snippets buttonWelcome back to Sexy Snippets hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers. It’s an opportunity for writers to share 7 sentences from their published or work on progress.

As Outcast is due to be released on Nov 1, I thought I’d share a snippet from it. In this scene, Ugo has just used her powers on Ebube and she’s feeling the after effects. I hope you enjoy it.

~~~
Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000446_00066]Her eyes sparkled; emeralds blazing with the fiery warmth of the noon sunshine. She nodded and a dark shadow dimmed her smile. His chest tightened.  For a moment, Ebube found it difficult to breathe.
“Did I hurt you?” his voice croaked as he forced the words. He’d only known Ugo a short while. Yet, one certainty stood above others—he never wanted to be a cause of discomfort to her.
Leave me a comment. I love to read them. Stop by and read the other sexy snippets this week. This week I have 2 sexy snippets as I have 2 books out within a few days of each other. So please stop by Passion Shields to read a snippet from my new release, Secrets.
7sinfulsecrets_200x300Kiru here. Welcome back to Sexy Snippets hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers. This week I’m sharing seven sentences from my story in the 7 Sinful Secrets anthology titled Sex Tape.
Overall Blurb:
Follow our seven couples, as they come to terms with the fact that their partner has been holding something back from them. Will it make or break their relationship? Read on to find out, and have your fan at the ready, because these secrets are hot!
Blurb for Sex Tape by Kiru Taye
Juan Roberto’s unexpected arrival home turns on its head when he discovers his wife Noni has a mind-blowing surprise she’s been hiding from him. Discovering secrets and sex tapes have never been hotter or more pleasurable…Contains: a naughty video and an even naughtier married couple rediscovering each other.
Here’s my snippet.
snippets buttonOpening the front door, he [Juan] sauntered into the hallway and dropped his luggage onto the dark wood panel floor. The darkness and immediate silence indicated Noni might have gone to sleep already.
Great, if she was; he could strip off his clothes and crawl into bed with her. His dick throbbed in agreement. Before he could action the thought, flickering lights under the door drew him toward the living room.
When he reached the partially open door, he heard a soft sigh. He pushed the door wide open and stopped dead in his tracks.
I hope you enjoyed it. Leave me a comment. I love to read them. Stop by and read the other Sexy Snippets this week.
#SexySnippets from His Strength #MenofValor 2 @KiruTaye
KT_his strength_453x680Welcome back to Sexy Snippets, 7 sentences shared from your work-in-progress or published book, hosted by The Nuthouse Scribblers.
This week I’m sharing from His Strength, the 2nd book in the historical romance Men of Valor series.
Here’s the blurb:
As a young widow, Nneka yearns to be released from the obligations to her late husband’s family, and live as an independent woman. With a past colored by a brutal father, she’ll never yield to another man willingly, and will do just about anything to attain that freedom, including flouting the laws of the land.
 Ikem was unable to claim Nneka once because his lineage meant he wasn’t good enough. Now fate has given him another chance, but he quickly discovers that claiming this unpredictable wildcat is easier said than done. Will he be able to convince her that succumbing to their passion is the key to her freedom?
In this scene, Ikem visits Nneka at his home for the first time but she isn’t altogether swooning at his feet. He’s got a plan to wear her down. For how long can she resist? Enjoy the snippet.
~~~

snippets button“Liar,” he whispered before he lowered his head, but he didn’t claim her lips immediately. Instead he feathered her face and neck with kisses, alternating between nipping and licking her sweet-salty skin. Her breathing increased rapidly. When he looked up, he noticed that her eyes were closed. He licked the pulse at her neck before he trailed his lips back up and hovered above her lips. She opened her eyes and moaned softly.

“Say it, Nneka. You want me to kiss you.”

Character Interview: Ijay from An Engagement Challenge @KiruTaye

Ijay - An Engagement Challenge by Kiru Taye

Ijay – An Engagement Challenge by Kiru Taye

Hello, readers. My name is Ijay Amadi and I’ve been invited by the lovely Kiru to tell you a little about my job.

My job title is Brand Strategy Consultant. In a nutshell, I work with my clients to find innovative ways to enhance the branding for their businesses or products. A lot of what I do involves analysis of research data and using that to plan for future trends. To do this it’s important that I understand the current markets and trends.

I love my job. But my current assignment comes along with more than the usual challenges. On a professional level, this is my first assignment in Africa. My former projects have dealt with businesses in Europe. So now I have to understand the culture of doing business in Nigeria as well as understand my client’s business.

Secondly and perhaps the biggest challenge is that my new client, Paul Arinze, is also a man I had a sizzling one-night stand with a few months previously. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not pining over him. No way. I’ve long moved on and am currently engaged to another man. It’s just that I worry about our working relationship. Will he be thinking about our night together while I’m presenting research reports? Will he be remembering the way our bodies writhed in the age old lovers’ dance?

Phew. Did somebody turn up the temperature in here? Sorry, I’m going to have to get a glass of water. Thinking about Paul always leaves me needing to cool off. But Kiru spills the beans about what happens between us in her book. So pick up a copy to get the goss.

It’s been nice chatting. Catch you all later.

Blurb:

When savvy PR consultant Ijay Amadi meets successful Industrialist Paul Arinze, the only things on her mind are to forget the pain of her failed relationship and enjoy the delights his branding touch and soul-searing kiss promise. It’s a one-time only event. Perfect.

However, Paul is annoyed to wake up and find her gone the next morning. He isn’t ready to forget the dark-haired beauty or their scorching night together just yet. So he plans to have Ijay right where he wants her—in Abuja, working on his latest business project by day and enjoying the pleasure of his bed by night.

Except when Ijay arrives, she’s wearing another man’s engagement ring. With the explosive desire between them threatening their priorities and loyalties, the stakes get higher by the minute. Who’ll be left standing at the altar when Ijay walks down the aisle?

The Birth of a New Series #PassionShields @KiruTaye @EvernightPub

Welcome to the month of August! I’m mighty excited to announce that I have 2 books out this month. SCARS, my Romance On The Go novella, and SEX TAPE, featured in the 7 Sinful Secrets Anthology, are both out now. Both these books contain characters from the same series Passion Shields.

Passion Shields Series

This is a ten-part series following the exploits of the sexy men and women of the Moss Star Security firm owned by Benjamin Moss and Christopher Star. We meet the lovers they possess, the clients they protect and travel internationally from London to Freetown, from Johannesburg to Los Angeles in stories packed with sizzling secrets and thrilling suspense.

WARNING: These stories contain sexual situations, strong language and some violence.

Each story is short, designed to be like an episode in a TV serial, a sexy bite-size reading for when you’re waiting in a queue or taking a train journey. Perhaps you shouldn’t let anyone read them over your shoulders. These are definitely ADULT ONLY material.

SCARS is the first book in the series and introduces some of the major characters from the series. This and the next two stories focus on Selina and Benjamin Moss and their developing relationship.

SCAR Blurb:

She clutches at control to cover her flaws. He wants to strip her bare because she’s beautiful.

Selina Moss hides a secret beneath her controlled happy exterior. Her body is covered in scars and she’s never revealed them to anyone. She’s not beautiful and she doesn’t want pity.

However, it’s her wedding night and husband, Benjamin Moss, is determined to strip down her barriers.

Benjamin is not playing fair, not when he’s deploying breath-stealing seduction as well as mind-melting sex toys. But will he still want her when she bares all?

Book Excerpt:

“There’s something I need to show you in our suite upstairs.”

The corners of his mouth lifted in a boyish grin as the lift doors opened. Her gaze fixated on his lips—sensuously full, they were a mix of firmness on the edges and softness on the inside—and she wondered if he would kiss her.

Her pulse rate skyrocketed as they rode up and he pulled her into the circle of his arms. He looked so handsome in his fitted charcoal suit, broad torso tapering at the hips. Leaning this closely to him, his taut muscles beneath the soft silk fabric offered protection as well as a glimpse of the possession to come. With her head on his shoulder, his all-male spice permeated her pores with every breath she took.

“You do know we can’t leave our guests at the reception just for a quickie,” she said. Tilting her head so she could see his face, she curled her lips in an I’d-like-you-to-take-me smile. Her womb contracted in agreement.

Truth was, she needed to get laid—the hot, fast, sweaty kind. Since she agreed to marry Ben they hadn’t been together, not even for a hand job. The mad rush to organise a wedding ceremony in such a short period of time, his insistence for her to move her things into his waterside penthouse apartment in Chelsea, combined with a pretty hefty schedule at work for both of them had left little time for anything else.

“Who says we can’t?”

He kissed her, a ruthless sweep of his tongue and demand of his lips. She clutched the lapels of his jacket, hanging on as sensation assaulted her.

Beneath her dress, her lacy thong got soaked as she squirmed against him. She’d worn the skimpy underwear to avoid panty-lines showing through her dress. Perhaps she should’ve chosen something sturdier like French knickers.

When he lifted his head, she was breathless, panting.

“Ben?” she asked when she finally got her voice back.

The dark colour of his suit emphasised the intensity of his eyes and complemented his tanned skin. With his South African heritage, his skin tone was always on the golden side, despite the recent bad weather and lack of sunshine.

“No. But I’ve got the next best thing for you.”

They stepped out of the lift, and he opened the door to the bridal suite. She followed him in, heart pounding in excitement.

“By the time the reception is over, you’ll be begging me to fuck you.”

#SexySnippets Island Bound by Kiru Taye @DecadentPub #Ubuntu

It’s Kiru here and it’s my turn again to host the Sexy Snippets party on SRS. This time I’m sharing seven sentences from ISLAND BOUND, my contemporary romance. This was one of my favourite scenes to write. I hope you enjoy it.

~*~*~*~*~

Christy lifted her head to meet Joshua’s narrowed gaze. She couldn’t believe how unperturbed he appeared, leaning against the door post, his hands in his trouser pockets.

He stared at her with open interest. In his black irises, fire flared—intense, inviting, and lacking innocence. His poise and energy were so masculine, so feral—a predator on the hunt, toying with his prey.

What was this, anyway? How had they ended up on this collision course?

~*~*~*~*~

Blurb:

When Christy Inemi-Spiff discovers that the man she vowed to love and honor has no such feelings for her, she’s determined to cut her losses and move on with her life. A quick, quiet divorce is all she wishes for Christmas.

However, Joshua has other ideas. He’s not ready to walk away yet, especially when he doesn’t understand why Christy wants out of their marriage. So he demands she agree to spend a quiet Christmas on a remote African Island with him, hoping they can salvage their relationship. If she still wants a divorce after these two weeks, he will let her go. But not before he’s had his fill of her.

But with the sparking tension between them, and the secrets behind the disintegration of their marriage threatening to explode, will either of them get their wish? Or will this season of good will show them what really lies at the bottom of their hearts?

#SexySnippets No5 from The Black Heart by @KiruTaye

Hi, it’s Kiru here. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend.

This week’s Sexy Snippet is from my current work-in-progress The Black Heart, a paranormal romance. As I’ve just completed the first draft, this will be the last sexy snippet from this manuscript until it’s published.

In this scene, Idris discovers Rahma in his bedroom. But he isn’t altogether thrilled. I hope you enjoy it.

To read the other sexy snippets from this manuscript, go here.

~*~*~*~*~

He stalked, circling, the predator in him watching her intently as her scent drew him closer. There was no way he could resist the musky jasmine fragrance designed to lure a mate into her clutches. Her strong aura would draw every beast within miles until one claimed her.

It was a wonder there wasn’t more of a commotion in the palace because he was sure the other blood warriors in the vicinity could sense the same pull towards her as he did.

Which begged the question, how did she get into his quarters bypassing Danladi and every other guard out there? A woman with such a power was dangerous in the current state of emergency.

Heart still jerking in his chest and all his muscles tensed, he stopped at the foot of the bed.

What Are You Watching?

Hello, y’all. This is Kiru, one of the newbies here at Sexy Romance Stories. It’s great to be part of this wonderful group of authors. I was introduced to the rest of the group via Jennifer Lynne whom I met online last year through our mutual book publisher Breathless Press.

Source: GlobalTV.com

As this is my first post here as a team member, I thought I’d do a quick get-to-know-Kiru post and share some of the TV shows I love watching. So here goes.

I’m the first in a family of five siblings. Although I was born in Nigeria, I currently live in the United Kingdom. I’m married with three kids—my youngest is just 9 weeks old. Yep, there’s a new baby in this house.  🙂

So you should already know, I write sexy romance. My stories always have an African link, either set in Africa and/or with African characters. You can check out my website to find out more about my books.

It goes without saying that I love reading. Mostly romance novels. But I also read most other fiction, fantasy, historical and thrillers especially.

One genre I don’t enjoy reading is Horror fiction. I read Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Anne Rice in my early 20s. I don’t read similar stuff anymore. Neither do I watch the movies. Scaring myself to death with nightmares isn’t fun. LOL

Talking about movies, I generally don’t watch a lot these days. In fact, I haven’t been to a cinema to see an adult movie for almost ten years, although, I take the kids to watch children’s films.

Source: CBS.com

The only time I get to watch TV is when I’m feeding baby, so I use it to catch up on my favourite movies or shows. For movies I watch action/thrillers (all action heroes/heroines kicking ass and blowing things up? Yeah! 🙂 ), sci-fi and of course, romance.

These are my favourite TV shows at the moment:

NCIS Los Angeles (LL Cool J is hot as ex-Navy SEAL Sam Hanna.)

Hawaii 5-0 (Alex O’Loughlin plays sexy Lt Commander Steve McGarrett.)

Justified (Timothy Olyphant plays tough but softly spoke deputy US marshal Raylan Givens. He makes a Stetson look cool.)

Jacob’s Cross is a TV drama series about powerful oil magnates battling for Africa’s rich off-shore oil resources. Set in both South Africa and Nigeria, the story centres around businessman Jacob Makhubu Abayomi and his quest to build the next great African empire. Click the link below to watch the trailer.

Jacob’s Cross trailer

Source: AdamsApplesMovie.com

And last but not least, Adams Apples is a mini-series set in the hustle and bustle of the city of Accra and its suburbs with glimpses of the exciting metropolis of London. It follows the lives of the four “Adams” Ghanaian women as they work through domestic struggles, family life and personal battles to achieve success and happiness in a fast changing 21st century Ghana.

So tell me what do you like to watch on TV or at the movies?

What villainous villainy by Kiru Taye

Sexy Romance Stories has a special treat today with our very first guest on the blog – award-winning author Kiru Taye. She’s offering an ebook giveaway of her new erotic romance, An Engagement Challenge, to one lucky commenter. Here’s Kiru:

Hello everyone. I’m happy to be hosted today by Sexy Romance Stories.

Villains. Oh, villains. How we hate them or love to hate them. Some of the most memorable books I’ve ever read have villains. Think Shere Khan in The Jungle Book, The White Witch in The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe, Sauron in Lord of the Rings, Hannibal Lecter in Red Dragon and if you think romance, Robert Lovelace from Clarissa Harlowe by Samuel Richardson.

What dastardly fiends they all are. We can certainly agree that they are creepy, calculating, wicked, slimy, evil and cruel. I’ve run out of adjectives but I’m sure you can come up with more. LOL!

But when I think about all the villains I’ve read about or watched in movies, the ones that I dislike the most are the ones who are usually quite close to the protagonist and work against them from within or stab them in the back. Those are usually the worst kind because they hurt the protagonist the most. The protagonist usually trusts them or looks up to them before they realise the villain is actually plotting their downfall.

When fictional villains are well written, they carry the story as much as the protagonists do. In some stories, they make the story by providing the reason for conflict.

As An Engagement Challenge is a romance novel, the main conflicts come from the emotional tension between the hero, Paul and the heroine, Ijay. But I added an extra dimension of conflict and suspense by adding a villain to the story.

When I was writing the story, some of the comments from my beta readers about the villain made me laugh so much. At one point they were holding a collection to hire a hit man and kill the villain off. I had to remind them the villain was fictional. LOL. But what their comments told me was that the villain was bad (in a very good way).

While the villain was working hard to pull Paul and Ijay apart (as if they didn’t have enough to deal with already), the opposite was actually happening. The events around them pulled them together and forced them to acknowledge what they felt for each other at least to themselves. In the end they realised they had a common enemy to fight instead of fighting each other.

So what about you? Do you have any favourite fictional villains or any that you remember vividly? Please share. I’d like to know. I’ll select one lucky commenter to win an ebook of An Engagement Challenge.

If I had to pick at the moment, I’d say my favourite fictional villain is Edmund from King Lear by William Shakespeare. He is almost similar to the villain in An Engagement Challenge.

According to Ceri Radford in The Telegraph’s 50 Greatest Villains in Literature, Edmund is: “The ultimate bastard. Tormented by the injustices of his illegitimate birth, he frames his own brother, plays the love rat to Goneril and Regan and finally orders the execution of Lear and Cordelia.”

What villainous villainy. LOL!
