Erotic Madness Blog Hop: how hot do you like it?

It’s here – the Erotic Romance Madness Hop, hosted by The Romance Reviews! We’re offering a $10 Amazon Gift Card to one lucky commenter on this post between the 10th and 14th of May, so if you like your romance steamy, read on to find out how to win. There are four of us here at Sexy Romance Stories, so we thought we’d give you a taste of our favorites – one each – and why we love these hotter than hot stories.

I’ve always loved baseball. It’s a thinking man’s game, relying more on brains than brawn to be successful. That doesn’t mean baseball players aren’t athletes in top physical condition – it just means they don’t knock each other upside the head very often! Sure, there’s the occasional collision, but it’s rare. In my book, INSIDE HEAT, I wrote about two superb athletes, Jeff and Jason Holder, twin brothers who are both at the top of their game in the world of professional baseball. They’re sexy, smart, and dedicated to the game. They’re on parallel paths, sharing everything – including their women – until their love for Megan changes the game and puts them on a collision course.

Sharon Buchbinder on DESIRE AND DECEPTION:

In writing DESIRE AND DECEPTION, I wanted to tell a sexy suspenseful tale about smart, powerful women and the men who love them. I wrote about society’s expectations of what a woman should be versus what a woman wants to be. And since the standing advice to writers is to “write what you know,” I then placed these characters into the setting of a rigidly hierarchical academic world where tenure and promotion are the duo brass rings. With Isabel and Sarah chattering at me the entire time, DESIRE AND DECEPTION is an erotic romantic suspense tale that practically wrote itself. The story had to be steamy because Isabel is a man eating sex goddess on the prowl and Sarah is a newlywed trying to get pregnant. Hello? Sex, anyone? The sex is integral to this story and the plot because Isabel uses sex to control men and Sarah uses sex to work at getting pregnant. Two very different women, two very different agendas, two very sexy couples.

Chellesie B. Dancer on POWER PLAY:

As two people become involved romantically, their sex life, or lack thereof, is a critical part of the developing relationship. Oftentimes the sex mirrors the challenges they have between them, other times it counterbalances their problems. In POWER PLAY, the control battle between Liz and Sergio in the workplace is juxtaposed with the control battle in the bedroom. This battle for sexual power creates a Dominant/submissive dynamic that excites both of them beyond anything they’d encountered before. So the sexual relationship reveals an inner yearning in both of them, and allows them to find their happily-ever-after.

Jennifer Lynne on PLATINUM PASSION:

Greek mythology plays a central role in my erotic romance series, Gods of Love. There is so much intrigue and passion in the lives of these gods and goddesses – especially around the time of the winter solstice, when festivals including wine and sex were designed to ward off the darkness. In researching these gods I discovered the erotes, purported to be the children of Aphrodite and aspects of the primal god of desire, Eros. My celebration of the erotes led inevitably into the realms of the erotic and my first foray into menage romance in PLATINUM PASSION (Book #1). I love this series, and I love this book, because it has given me the opportunity to bring together all the love, erotic romance and mysticism of those passionate Greek gods and place it into a contemporary setting – where we can all dream of being seduced by a god.

  2. Hi Shadow,
Thanks for stopping by! If you’re after hot sex with a great story and romance, then you’ve come to the right place 🙂

    Hi Fedora,
Lovely to see you here at Sexy Romance! I agree – for me a good emotional connection between characters is essential to keeping my interest in a story, whether erotic or not. Thanks for commenting!

  3. I’m actually OK with any heat level–the most important part to me is the emotional connection between the characters and whether I’m buying into that. If I do, then it can be anything from an almost-kiss to down and dirty 🙂

  4. I like my books hot! The hotter, the better! 🙂 I have to have a story with it though. I dont really care for a book with just sex, got to have the romance and HEA’s too! ;D Thank you for the fun hop and for the giveaway! Have a great week!

  5. Hi Eva,
Thanks for the comment! I agree – erotic romance is really about the romance and the relationship, and the sexual heat is within that context, isn’t it?

    Hi Books 4 Me,
Love your name! And yes, we definitely write H-O-T here at Sexy Romance 🙂

    Hi Tina,
Thanks for stopping by! I often read 2-3 books at once, as well. Then you can dip in and out depending on what mood takes you 🙂

  6. I can read a story that is just about the sex, but I do of course love a great plot with amazing characters. I have a wide range and it depends on my mood as to what I want to read. Lately, I have been reading 2 books at a time. One Erotica and one a different genre(PNR, YA, historical, suspense, etc). I recently started reading more Erotica books and I LOVE them!! The spicier the better. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your stories, ladies. They all sound like wonderful reads.
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  7. With four writers that write H-O-T romance, this blog must be constantly on fire! I like my romance as hot as possible…smoking and beyond…the hotter the better!

  8. I love to read about how the couple first realizes they are in love, about how emotionally scar one or both of them are and how they bring about their healing…and of course sexy scenes in them middle of all of this does help a lot too! Thanks for participating and for the great giveaway!

  9. Hi Jessica,
Thanks for stopping by! Quite often I’m guided by reviews as well. And we love smoking hot here at Sexy Romance!

    Hi Yvette,
Thanks for commenting! There are definitely some wonderful book covers out there, that really catch the eye 🙂

  10. I go by reviews & like authors for erotic books. With that being said I have loved books that others hated and vice versa. I am using a Kindle so I rarely even look at the book covers. I prefer my books smoking hot and detailed. Also I find it hard to read a “normal” romance after reading a erotic.

  11. I love my romances on the hot side. Elements of bdsm, menage, m/m all show up on my favorite’s list, but at the heart have to be a romance story, with character’s that are sexy and memorable.

    • Hi Ashley–

Thanks for commenting. If you like elements of BDSM, FOUR OF HEARTS and POWER PLAY are yours to tie up and take home! 🙂

(DESIRE AND DECEPTION has light bondage and spanking.)

  12. I enjoy reading romances and erotic romance is the icing on the cake! :o) Of course, it must have a good storyline and strong characters.

  15. Hi Dianna, thanks for your comment! I haven’t yet read 50 Shades, but most certainly I can recommend Desire and Deception or Power Play as great erotic reads.

Hi June, thanks for stopping by! I love the intensity of erotic romance too – heat with a real relationship! If you like menage, Platinum Passion has both MMF and MFM loving, and Inside Heat has MFM to satisfy your craving 🙂

  16. What I really love about Erotic romances is the great characters, the intensity, the great stories, and of course the hot lovin’. I pretty much like it the hotter the better, lol. I really enjoy menages, BDSM, etc.

  17. Oh that is a great question. I am a bit of a novice to erotic romance, but I look for ones that have a plot and sex. I think it is important to have both LOL! I just finished Fifty Shades of Grey, so now my eyes have been opened and I want more. Man, is it hot in here or is it just me? LOL! I want them all. I definitely want Power Play or Desire and Deception. I hope I get the gift card, but good luck to everyone 🙂 Thank you so much 🙂

  18. I look for a great storyline, exciting characters, with plenty of hot and “go for broke” sex!

  19. Hey Jess, thanks for stopping by! If you like menage you could try Platinum Passion – it has MMF and MFM love scenes, and Inside Heat has some hot MFM! Ah, we love our menage here at Sexy Romance 🙂

For light Dom/sub action you could try Power Play – I can tell you its a very hot read!

  20. I like my erotic romance very hot, with a tendancy towards BDSM and menage. I try to judge by the blurb though, because erotic romances sometimes have slightly crappy covers…
    Thanks for the giveaway!

  21. Hi Vanessa, thanks for your comment. I love it when the character connection is really strong, too. I’m sure if you read any of our erotic picks, you’ll find they deliver on that front as well as the heat 🙂

Hi Jess, thanks for visiting Sexy Romance! I’m a huge fan of the slow burn. Makes the inferno all the hotter, I believe!

  22. Hi Joanna, thanks for stopping by! These four books can certainly offer plenty in the way of heat, I can tell you!

Hi Mel, thanks for your comment. Our romance recommendations are extremely erotic and I think they’d make wonderfully sweaty summer reading 🙂

  23. I love my romances hot. The more I sweat, the better the story!! I love the cover for Power Play. I will be putting these on my list for summer reading.

  24. I like my romance hot!! I haven’t read any of these authors yet. I will have to check them out. Thanks for the giveaway!

  25. One of the disadvantages of living in Australia is that I’m asleep when many of the comments come in – but the up side is that I get to wake up in the morning and read what everyone likes in the way of heat! And it is definitely hot here at Sexy Romance today!

LOL, Nancy, that is one hot salsa 🙂

    • Thanks Catherine! You’re welcome to stop by anytime. We’ll keep the books hot for you. 😉

Juliana, check out the hot M/M/F menage in Platinum Passion. Thanks for joining in!

  26. Hi Juana, thanks for stopping by! I love paranormal, too. That’s why I delved into Greek mythology with Platinum Passion – so I could start to bring some paranormal elements into a contemporary setting. Fun to write as well as read it!

  27. Thanks for the giveaway! My favorite book genre is paranormal romance the spicier the better 🙂

  28. Andie, check out Platinum Passion, great characters, and a really hot night right out of their fantasies!
    And mine too 😉

Trix, if you like M/M, you’ll enjoy Platinum Passion too–it’s got a hot M/M/F menage!

And anyone who likes a good menage , you’ll find Inside Heat has a fabulous M/F/M menage with 2 very hunky guys!

  29. Ava & Stacie, I agree that the cover is important, especially to let readers know the heat level. But as Ava pointed out, you don’t always get a great cover, and that doesn’t mean the book isn’t hot! Yes Stacie, I got lucky with Power Play, that my cover artist listened to my preferences, and did such an awesome job!

  30. I prefer hot romances. The hotter the better. I think the cover should hint at the heat level of the story. I love the Power Play cover.

  31. M/M erotica is my preference, and I’ll take it as hot as possible (though it helps if I love the characters involved).

  32. I love a great looking cover. But I do not base my purchase upon it. I’ve made that mistake in the past of constantly overlooking a book because the cover was not attractive enough to me. Ended up getting the book as a egift and LOVED IT! Live and learn 😉

Thank you for being a part of the hop!

  33. Wow, so many great comments thus far! Thank you everyone, for stopping by to visit 🙂

I love a good eyecatching cover too, but then inside the covers…I like a luscious, sensual feel – and that slow build up of sexual tension. I also love characters that are well developed and stay in my mind after I’ve finished reading.

  34. If I am reading erotica I want a great story with lots of SEX! All of the books look very hot. Would love them all.

  35. You know to tell the truth it all depends on my mood, some times i like them extra spicy and others just kinda mellow:)

  36. i read hot books for something different than the usual romance. if is is going to be an erotic one, then I want it written tastefully and surprisingly good.

  37. I always look at the cover first and then go from there…usually I like to have a bit of romance or mystery depending on my mood….I’m always down for a really HOT and I mean HOT SEX scene.

    • Hi BJ–

If you like suspense and romance and SEX SEX SEX, may I recommend DESIRE AND DECEPTION? (End of shameless self promotion! LOL!)

  38. Yeah, more books to put on my list!! I love my books HOT! If I’m not turning on the fan and stripping off clothes, than its not hot enough!! lol

  39. Esp. like the cover for POWER PLAY. Very clever and eye-catching.

And I enjoy a hot, sensual, love scene. Or two. Or more.
